Psychotherapy and Counselling are generally used to mean the same thing, although psychotherapy is sometimes more associated with longer-term work where there is a greater focus on unravelling how past experiences and relationships are affecting current life difficulties.
Both provide a safe space where you can talk confidentially to someone who is not involved in your day-to-day life and who will listen to you without judging, enabling you to feel accepted and understood. .
This can help you gain greater insight and self-awareness giving you a new perspective on things, leading to more fulfilling relationships and ways of living.
Due to being qualified as both a psychotherapist and a counsellor, and with my range of experience in both brief NHS work and longer-term therapy, I am able to tailor my skills to work with you at the depth and over a period of time which feels right for you.
